We had the wonderful opportunity to come back to the beautiful city Bassano del Grappa in Italy to capture Melissa and Sean`s destination wedding there. The bridal couple is from the United States but the bride has her roots in Italy, so they chose this historic city to celebrate their love. Approximately 50% of the guests were Italian and the other half flew in from the States. It was a perfect mix and all the guests enjoyed this wedding to the full. In the morning Phil attented the groom and his groomsmen walking to their getting ready location through the Saturday markets at Piazza Liberta with umbrellas as it did not stop raining. Binding the bow tie was a bit of a challenge but with some patience and YouTube instructions everything worked out. This season lots of our grooms are wearing a stylish piece - a Kummerbund. The groom and his groomsmen walked to the church and while they were crossing the street a Beatles album cover showed up by accident. In the meanwhile the bride and her bridesmaids were getting prepared at Hotel Belvedere, the girls had a lot of fun and were singing out loud while getting hair and makeup done.

The ceremony was held at SS. Trinita in Bassano where several family members have also gotten married and their reception was held at a 400+ year old home in the country side of Bassano del Grappa - Villa Damiani. Absoluetly beautiful, cozy and outstanding. Just the weather did not play along that well so the cocktail hour could not be held outside as planned but the guests also enjoyed the delicious antipasti in one of several rooms of the beautiful Villa.

It rained so much that the result was a totally mixed up timeline but Melissa and Sean were really relaxed and flexible and so we shifted the group photos and bridal portraits. We were lucky that it stopped raining later in the afternoon and so we drove back to the city with the couple to take some beautiful photos in the historical town. Sadly the famous bridge Ponte Vecchio was under construction as well as most of the area around the bridge but we checked out the location the day before so it was no surprise on the wedding day and we were perfectly prepared. We found some beautiful areas for wedding photos, so Melissa and Sean did not have to give up the idea of incorporating the bridge in their photos.

After dinner they started the party and we were stoked. We have not seen such a rocking wedding party for years. Yes, often times the dance floor is occupied for half an hour or a bit more but every now and then it is empty but not so this time. The guests totally rocked, the dance floor was filled with people for three hours nonstop and then we left the party but we are absolutely sure that they partied on.

Melissa and Sean, we thank you so much for your trust! It was a great pleasure being part of your outstanding day and we thank you for your calmness and flexibilty. We enjoyed your wedding to the full and are happy that we could come back to this beautiful city again. Looking forward meeting you soon again, maybe sometme in New York... all the best for your marriage!
